“Andreas van Zoelen has in short time become an authority on his instrument”- Brabants Dagblad

1003zw.jpg Andreas regularly performs as soloist with different orchestras. In the past he has performed with;

-the Consortium Musicum Divertimento, with whom he played the concerto for alto saxophone and orchestra bij dutch composer Jan van Dijk, during a tour through France and Holland (1999)

-the chamber orchestra of the  Brabants Conservatorium, with whom he played several premières of Concerti for bass saxophone and stringorchestra (1999-2000)

-the Euregio Jeugd Orkest, with whom he performed and recorded the “ Sax-o-Rhapsody” by Eric Coates (2000)

-the Tilburgs studentenorkest “Ananta”, with Susanne Lucker with whom he played the Concerto for english horn, bass saxophone and orchestra by Ruud van Eeten, conducted by the composer

-the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Germany, with whom he played the premiere of the Concerto for bass saxophone and orchestra by Stefan Thomas, which was written for him

-the Magogo kamerorkest with whom he played the Concerto for alto saxophone and strings by Alexandre Glazounov to commemorate the 100th birthday of legendary saxophonist Sigurd Raschèr.

Andreas also has played many concerts as soloist with windband. A.o. he premiered the Concerto for Baritonsaxophone and symphonic wind band by dutch composer Bernard van Beurden.

November 2008 he played the premier of the Jan van Dijk concerto for bass saxophone and band, with harmonie Vriendenkrans Heel, Martien Maas, conductor.

In March 2009 he performed the premier of the Bernard van Beurden Concerto “Four Mouvements” for saxophone quartet and band. This concert took place at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, grand hall. The AdoSa Saxophone Quartet with the ATH Symphonic Band Amsterdam.

Every season, Andreas plays several recitals with piano. In the past, he has worked with Ben Lankhaar, Zhang Xiu Mei, Henk Stoop, José Jesus de Azevedo Souza, Klaas Trapman, Michael Barnett.

For several years now, Martien Maas is his truthful companion at the piano.
